Role of women in promoting maritime energy management in PNG Workshop

The Virtual National Workshop for Fiji Women In Maritime Association (Fiji WIMA) on the role of women in promoting maritime energy management is the alternative activity held at the Mana Café, Suva and Port Denarau Meeting room in Nadi, Fiji on the 10th of December 2021. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Fiji Women In Maritime Association (FIJI WIMA), University of South Pacific (USP), and representatives of ship operators.

The purpose of the virtual workshop was to focus on raising awareness on the role of women in maritime energy management, identify opportunities to develop and enhance Fiji WIMA’s tailored services to stakeholder needs and finally highlight the opportunities to support implementation and monitoring of the Regional Strategy for Pacific Women In Maritime 2020 – 2024.

The virtual workshop consisted of MTCC – Pacific presenting via Zoom on the brief overview of MTCC- Pacific Project – the role of women in promoting maritime energy management, MTCC – Pacific project demonstration on the update of low carbon development initiatives, updates on Domestic Ship Safety Programme in the Pacific (PIDSS) and a presentation introducing the GreenVoyage2050 project and MTCC Pacific’s involvement was also made. The President of FIJI WIMA presented an update from Fiji Women In Maritime Association.
