MTCC Asia at the Global Sustainable Transport Talent Training Program

The Global Sustainable Transport Talent Training Program, a training program for foreign students majoring in transport studies in China, opened in Beijing on Thursday, 14 October 2021 in parallel with the launch of the Second Global Sustainable Transport Conference. The Program was attended by MTCC Asia which was represented by its Head, Prof. Wei Ruan.

The program is co-organized by Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Maritime University, Chang’an University, Southwest Jiaotong University and China Merchants Port Group. Eighty international students from 34 countries participated in the program.

The second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference provided an opportunity to focus attention on the opportunities, challenges and solutions towards achieving sustainable transport worldwide as well as a way forward for sustainable transport to help achieve the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

To echo the objectives of the conference, the Transport Management Institute of China’s Ministry of Transport, China Merchants group, and universities featuring the specialization of transport joined hands to build a platform for outstanding overseas students in China to study and discuss the sustainable development of transport, with an aim to help them excel to be future talents in the transport field.
