MTCC Latin America hosted their First Virtual Regional Workshop under the GMN II – Global Maritime Cooperation Centres Network Project, Phase 2.

The regional event brought together key stakeholders to review progress, align priorities, and look ahead towards 2026. The discussions reflected on achievements under GMN Phase II and MTCC regional activities, providing a concise overview of the year’s key events, milestones, and highlights. This demonstrated how collaboration has strengthened regional capacity and advanced practical solutions across participating countries.

The dialogue also presented MTCC’s plans towards 2026, including strategic priorities, funding directions, and a pipeline of pilots and partnerships aimed at scaling impact and reinforcing regional cooperation.

An interactive poll engaged participants in sharing real-time perspectives on challenges and priorities, offering valuable insights.

Further discussions also focused on technical needs, the role of the Regional Industry Alliance, and opportunities for enhanced regional cooperation.

A dedicated segment addressed the integration of Sustainable Development Goal 5, highlighting the importance of women’s participation in maritime innovation, leadership, and training. The discussion resulted in clear outcomes to strengthen gender-responsive approaches and promote more inclusive and sustainable maritime development across the region.
