MTCC Asia

Shanghai Maritime University, China

MTCC-Asia is hosted by Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) in China. SMU is a maritime University owning 26, 000 full time students and specializing in shipping and maritime affairs. Its existing capacity is to cultivate maritime talents and conduct maritime researches for world shipping industry.

Although part of the MTCC network MTCC-Asia is not funded by the project. SMU’s existing capacity, combined with the project’s support through the creation of MTCC-Asia, is used to assist developing countries in the region to enhance their capabilities to address GHG emissions from shipping.

MTCC-Asia has two offices in Shanghai, one on the campus and one located in the downtown of Shanghai city.
