MTCC Africa successfully hosted the First National Workshop under the GMN II – Global Maritime Technology Cooperation Centres Network Project, Phase 2, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Maritime Sector Decarbonisation Workshop – Ethiopia

Decarbonising the maritime sector is a global challenge that demands strategic action and collaborative expertise. In line with the 2023 IMO GHG Strategy, this workshop brought together relevant stakeholders to strengthen national capacities for transitioning toward energy-efficient, low-carbon maritime transport, promote public-private partnerships, and explore opportunities for green financing. Participants included government authorities, maritime industry representatives, academics, and international environmental experts, who shared knowledge, experiences, and worked towards practical solutions.
