MTCC Latin America effectively hosted the Third National Workshop under the GMN II – Global Maritime Technology Cooperation Centres Network Project, Phase 2, in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Maritime decarbonisation demands coordinated global action and strategic cooperation. This event brought together Guatemalan and international experts, government officials, industry leaders, academics, and environmental organisations to share innovative strategies and practical solutions driving the transition toward a more sustainable, low-emission maritime transport sector.

Sessions explored an overview of Guatemala’s maritime and port sector, the use of alternative sustainable marine fuels, regional initiatives, regional industry alliance in the continent, practical and interactive discussions on pathways forward, as well as the role of financing and the promotion of gender equality in the sector.
