MTCC Caribbean

University of Trinidad and Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago
The Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre for the Caribbean (MTCC Caribbean) operates within The University of Trinidad and Tobago’s (UTT) Centre for Maritime and Ocean Studies, Maritime Studies Unit. Headquartered at UTT’s Chaguaramas Campus on Trinidad’s northwestern peninsula, MTCC Caribbean leads initiatives in maritime capacity building, energy efficiency, and maritime decarbonization and climate action. The dedicated Centre is supported by UTT’s maritime training facilities, workshops and laboratories.
UTT, a multi-campus institution, emphasizes experiential learning, allowing students to gain hands-on experience alongside theoretical knowledge. This dynamic approach, combined with UTT’s sector-driven research and adaptable program structure, strengthens MTCC Caribbean’s mission and aligns with UTT’s commitment to sustainable development and innovative educational practices.
