Onboard Solar Power for Low-Emission Vessel Operations in Fiji

The pilot project involves the installation, integration, operation, and performance monitoring of a marine-grade onboard solar photovoltaic (PV) system to support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from vessel operations.

The initiative focuses on a vessel with high operational utilisation, extended port and anchorage stays, and continuous lighting requirements. By introducing solar power to support onboard electricity needs, the pilot aims to demonstrate the technology’s practical application and assess its performance under these operating conditions.
